The Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park should be enough reason to visit as you get beautiful scenery around you.

There is easy parking and you will reach the beach with a small walk from the parking lot. The beach has fine white sand.

It’s another beach that’s not visited by a lot of people so it’s easy to find a place to relax and be by yourself. We especially recommend this beach for couples who are looking for a nice day out.

5. Haulover Beach

Haulover Beach is on the same patch of the coast as Sunny Isles Beach is, however, it’s no longer a city beach. The cityscape is exchanged for nature here making it a very nice place to visit.

No crowds and minimal amenities are what you can expect from Haulover Beach. Parking is easy and the nearby city is still close enough that you can hop into the car for a quick lunch at one of the restaurants.

Do note there is a nudist area on this beach. This area is marked with signs so keep an eye out if you want to avoid it.

Distance is around 11 miles from Hollywood, FL. The drive is roughly 25 minutes. It’s not too bad.

Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park is a beautiful place. It has nice nature and a historic lighthouse. When you go to the beach inside the state park you will be amazed by the scenery. Whenever we visit we find ourselves wanting to stay as long as possible.

It’s also very low-key and relaxing to be on the beach inside Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park. Many tourists don’t make the trip into the state park and skip this totally awesome beach.

It’s one of the hidden gems when it comes to beaches near Hollywood, FL.

At around 27 miles it’s definitely not the closest beach to Hollywood but it’s still not too bad. Driving time is usually between 1 hour and 1 hour and 30 minutes. It all depends on traffic.

We’ve found waterparks to be a great replacement for beach days, especially for families. Children love the attractions and the parents can relax without fear of the big waves in the ocean.

Topeekeegee Yugnee is located directly in Hollywood and it’s a great place for families. The waterpark here is named Castaway Island and it’s a small waterpark with a few attractions.

There are some small slides for children and a total of 3 pools. They are varying in depth so everyone in the family can enjoy a great beach day out.

This park is located right inside Hollywood, FL so we’ll not consider travel distance.

10. Tidal Cove Waterpark

Tidal Cove Waterpark is best for families who have bigger children. This waterpark has 5 waterslides in total and they are much bigger than the ones in Topeekeegee Yugnee park. These ones are more suited for bigger kids.

There is also a lazy river that can be enjoyed by the whole family and there is a kid’s pool for those who also have little children.

The distance is just 5 miles from Hollywood, FL so you shouldn’t expect a lot of driving to get there.
