Looking for a place to cool down during summer? Want to have a friendly BBQ in a scenic environment? Or maybe you just want to stroll along the coast? Well, you’ve come to the right place. Today we’ll take a look at 8 great beaches near Marysville, WA.

We’ll cover a mix of lakes and saltwater beaches. As Marysville is located rather far from the open ocean you won’t really find classic beaches here. That doesn’t mean what you have is bad. In fact, there are still plenty of places to visit from Marysville if you want to be around water.

In the case of beaches near Marysville, WA we’ve also included some places where you need to take a ferry. Make sure that you check the schedule before you leave home to avoid long waiting times.

1. Wenberg County Park

Wenberg County Park is a relaxing lakefront park that offers a plethora of activities for its visitors. We love this place as there are usually not many other people here and you can find a swimming beach inside the park.

You can find almost anything you would need from a great lake day: opportunities for swimming, BBQ areas, shade, and boat ramps. There is even a playground so the kids can play around while the meat is getting ready for dinner.

It’s overall a very nice place to visit and one of the nicer beaches around Maryville, WA. It’s a good trip during hot summer days. The fee for entry is $10 and unfortunately, the national park pass does not cover this park.

One thing you must keep in mind is that this place is a perfect recreation area but when it comes to the actual lakefront the focus is on boating and kayaking. The swimming area exists but it’s on the smaller side.

2. Kayak Point Regional County Park

Kayak Point Regional County Park offers a more classic beach experience if you are after those. Although you won’t find sand here, the rocky shore is still pretty nice and the views are scenic.

The beach is good all year round as there are picnic opportunities and fire pits to entertain you even on days when swimming is not an option.

One of the best times to visit this place is during summer. It really comes alive with people flocking to the water where they can escape the summer heat.

There is also a boat launch so you can get on the water easily. Whether you are into kayaking, SUPing, or proper boating you can do it here.

Entry to the park costs $10. It’s a great choice especially if you are coming as a family.

3. Lundeen Park

Lundeen Park is one of the best beaches on Lake Stevens. It’s practically next door to Marysville making it a super easy place to visit.

It’s one of the best lake beaches in the area. You’ve got plenty of parking, benches, picnic areas, BBQ areas, a snack shop, and even a kayak rental. You can spend a lot of time on this beach and not get bored!

To make this fully family-friendly there is even a playground for the kids. The bathrooms are nice and always clean. Needless to say that this is one of our favorite beaches near Marysville.

Oh and did we say the best bit yet? Parking is free! Yep, this is one of those places that seems too good to be true. Of course, with all the goodies this place is absolutely packed when the weather is good but if you don’t mind others then it’s an excellent choice.

4. Jetty Island

Distance: 5 miles – 10 mins + a ferry

Jetty Island is the best-kept secret of the locals. Not many people even know that you can visit this island but it’s pretty easy actually!

First of all, you need to take a ferry. Maybe it sounds daunting but the ferry leaves from Everett and parking is only $3 for a day. Yep, $3. After that, you are set. The ferry is free. Crazy in today’s world but these places exist.

Now the island itself is only open from July 5 to Sep 4 which means you must visit during the summer. It’s the perfect time anyway to enjoy this area.

The island is small enough to explore on foot but large enough to never feel crowded. Here, the shore is very shallow, and during high tide, it’s perfect for the kids to play in. They can jump, run, and wade around the shallow water without worrying about their safety.

Now, it’s also a great place for couples. The fact that it’s not crowded means you can easily find a spot to settle down and have a romantic picnic and some alone time with your significant other. Jetty Island is surely a hidden gem of a beach.

5. Double Bluff Beach

Double Bluff Beach is a huge beach with interesting tide pods. It’s mainly known for its beautiful scenery and the fact that it’s a popular off-leash dog beach.

We highly advise that you visit this beach during low tide. High tide makes most of the beach area disappear but during low tide, there are tons of space for everyone.

If you want to visit a beach with your dog then this is definitely the one. Many people come here with their furry companions and enjoy some outdoors time. It’s one of the best spots for that.

Do note that you’ll need to take a ferry to reach this place. You can theoretically drive here but it’s a huge detour.

6. Possession Beach Waterfront Park

Possession Beach Waterfront Park is a pebbly beach and it’s a great place for boat watching. You can settle down on the shore, get into the water from time to time, and enjoy the interesting traffic that passes through the area during summer.

The scenery is perfect and there is ample parking for everyone. There is even boat parking available for boat trailers if you are looking to launch your own onto the water.

Getting here once again requires a ferry if you don’t want to take the big detour up north.

7. Mukilteo Beach

Mukilteo Beach is a great choice if you want to remain near a town and still enjoy the great views. It’s a city park with a local lighthouse and interesting pathways.

The shore is pebbly and it’s not really a swimming beach. Of course, no one will stop you from actually swimming but there are no lifeguards and the water gets deep pretty quickly.

However, if you are looking for a relaxing environment then you will find it here. There are multiple fire pits, BBQ opportunities, and benches for everyone. You can have a cookout with your friends and enjoy the perfect day next to the water.

You are also right next to the town so everything is close from shops to restaurants.

8. Lake Roesiger Park

Lake Roesiger Park offers great opportunities for kayaking and swimming. This small lake has the perfect scenery and as it’s a lake, the water gets rather warm during summer.

For those who want to enjoy some swimming, the park offers a roped area where you can swim safely. Do note that it goes pretty deep into the water so keep an eye out on your kids to make sure they stay near the shore.

You can also find shaded areas and opportunities for a picnic. A boat launch is also available if you want to enjoy some other water-based activities.

Overall, Lake Roesiger Park is a great beach near Marysville but it’s not that different from Lundeen Park which is closer to town.
