We have to say that this area, in particular, is full of amazing beaches. You will need to hop in your car and drive to them yourself but that should not be a limiting factor.

1. Robert K Rees Memorial Park
The Robert K Rees Memorial Park is a 45-acre beachfront park that is perfect for picnicking, wildlife observation, and enjoying the stunning views over the water.
The 650-ft. boardwalk is a great place to take a leisurely stroll, and the park also has a wildlife observation tower where you can get a birds-eye view of the area.
This beach is the perfect place to relax and take in the natural beauty of the sea. The wooden bridge is a great place to take a walk, and from the gazebo, you can really appreciate the view.
It’s so peaceful here – the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Of course, peacefulness comes with a price. As far as amenities go there’s only minimal available here.
Also meanwhile it’s a beautiful area it’s not a particularly beautiful beach. Your surroundings will be great but the beach itself is pretty mediocre.
Regardless, it’s a small beach that’s usually not crowded and it’s inside New Port Richey making it super easy to reach.
The distance from this area is practically nothing. The beach is reached with just a few minutes of driving.

2. Oelsner Park
After looking at the local beach of New Port Richey it’s time to take a look at the local beach of Port Richey. These two beaches might be simple but they are great picks if you don’t want to travel far for some tanning and swimming.
Oelsner Park is a great place to enjoy the outdoors. It’s clean and well-maintained, with plenty of green space for picnicking, relaxing, and playing games.
The park also has a lovely view of the water, and on warm days swimming is allowed. Do note that there are no lifeguards though. When it comes to amenities the park has nice restrooms and showers as well.
Nearby you will find some restaurants so you basically get everything with this beach. The only downside is the missing natural beauty. You are inside the town so no dramatic views like you would get on some of our other picks.
Once again the distance is basically nothing. It’s in town. You’ll reach it with just a few minutes of driving.

3. Anclote River Park
Anclote River Park is a great spot for a family beach day. Kids love playing in the sand and in the water here. Also, it’s one of the first beaches you come to when driving down from the north that has white sand and a sandy bottom
The picnic area is well-equipped, with plenty of trees and shade, picnic tables, and bathrooms. There’s even an outdoor shower and extra bath houses for changing.
It’s an overall nice pick and it’s not as busy as the upcoming beaches we are going to mention. Come here if you want to avoid crowds and want to minimize driving.
It’s around 10 miles and 20 minutes of driving away from Port Richey and New Port Richey.

4. Howard Park Beach
Now, it would be a shame if we failed to mention one of our favorite beaches in the area. It’s pretty close so you can visit easily and it’s a superb spot for tanning, swimming, and relaxing.
If you’re looking for a hidden gem of a beach near Port Richey and New Port Richey, then look no further than this little spot. The fine white sand and natural surroundings make for a very picturesque setting.
Even though it’s not as well-known as some of the other beaches in the area, it’s definitely worth a visit. The parking lot is usually not too crowded, and there is usually enough space for everyone.
Amenities at the beach are pretty basic. There are bathrooms and showers, but not much more than that. If you’re looking for a place to enjoy the sun and the water with minimal distractions, this may be the place for you. But if you’re expecting luxurious surroundings, you’ll be disappointed.
It takes around 30 minutes to drive here from Port Richey and New Port Richey. The distance is roughly 15 miles.

5. Sunset Beach
Sunset Beach is the little sister of Howard Park Beach and it’s just as amazing. As the name suggests you can get some amazing sunsets here so if you do visit maybe try staying until the sun is down.
The only downside of Sunset Beach is the actual beach. It’s a beautiful area but the water here is very calm which leads to an accumulation of seaweed.
You can still get into the water but if swimming is what you are after then we advise you to choose a different spot. However, if you are mainly after relaxing, beautiful views, and tanning then you’ll love this quiet place.
It’s around the same distance as Howard Park Beach, maybe a bit closer. Usually, around 25 minutes of driving will get you here from Port Richey.

6. Honeymoon Island State Park
Another one of our favorite places in Florida. The whole Honeymoon Island State Park is a wonderful spot to visit and it has amazing beaches.
Whether you are choosing a beach that’s close to the parking or you are choosing the actual Honeymoon Island Beach at the very far end of the state park you can’t really make a mistake.
Of course, as you would expect, the further you get from the parking lot the less crowded it is. Our favorite views are from the Honeymoon Island Beach but you get calm waters, superb nature, and fine white sand everywhere on the island.
This place is a must-see for everyone who is traveling to Florida and when you are staying in Port Richey or New Port Richey you are very close. Okay, maybe not very close, but pretty close.
The distance is around 20 miles and you should expect 30-40 minutes of driving depending on traffic.

7. Clearwater Beach
Are you ready for the classic Florida beach experience? Because that’s what you gonna get if you drive all the way down to Clearwater Beach from Port Richey.
The beach is situated on Florida’s Gulf Coast and is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. Clearwater Beach is well known for its clear blue waters and its beautiful sunsets.
Visitors can enjoy swimming, sunbathing, fishing, and windsurfing. There are also a number of restaurants and bars located on the beach, making it an amazing place to spend a day or evening.
Also, don’t forget to keep an eye out for dolphins! Sometimes they appear near Clearwater Beach, although, there are absolutely no guarantees. If you really want to see some maybe hop over to Clearwater Aquarium. There’s plenty of underwater life on display over there.
It’s around 25 miles from Port Richey and New Port Richey. The driving time is roughly 50 minutes to 1 hour.

8. Sand Key Beach
Want the Florida beach experience with fewer crowds? Then maybe try going one beach further than Clearwater and settle at Sand Key Beach.
Sand Key beach is a great place to go if you’re looking for a more quiet and relaxed atmosphere. It’s located just south of Clearwater, so it’s still close to all the main attractions, but it’s not nearly as busy.
Even on weekends, you’ll find that it’s a lot more peaceful here. The sand is also really soft and the water is crystal clear. It’s definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area!
This beach is perfect for those who are looking to avoid the busyness of mainstream beaches. Parking is $5 and the parking lot is huge, we’ve almost never seen it completely full.
The distance is almost 30 miles and driving time is usually around 1h or 1h15m.

9. The Lift Adventure Park
Finally, if you are not looking for a regular beach experience but something more you have ‘The Lift Adventure Park’ nearby.
It’s an overwater adventure park with plenty of attractions that lets you get active and use your body. Many of the obstacle courses will almost feel like an episode of the tv show ‘Knockout’.
Apart from the obstacle course you can go wakeboarding, kayaking, or even simply swimming here. It’s an unusual pick but it’s nearby and it’s a lot of fun to visit.
They market themselves as Florida’s largest inflatable aqua park. Whether it’s true or not, we can’t tell, however, we loved our time here.
It’s around 12 miles from Port Richey and New Port Richey. You’ll get there with a short 20-minute drive.
