The Racic Mausoleum of Cavtat

Located inside the cemetery of Cavtat you will find the Racic Mausoleum. The Mausoleum was created as the resting place for the famous shipbuilding family of Cavtat, the Racic family. The gothic building is the work of Ivan Mestrovic, the famed Croatian architect.

It should also be noted, that the cemetery is situated on a small hill. When you are visiting the Mausoleum, you will be greeted with great views of the city and the Adriatic sea.

Day Trip to Dubrovnik

The very popular city of Dubrovnik is within arm’s reach when staying in Cavtat. With its world-famous Old Town, and picturesque streets the city is a must-see in our Cavtat things to do list. We recommend at least half a day in Dubrovnik to fully experience the location and see everything.

Getting to Dubrovnik from Cavtat is easy. It’s only around a 30-minute drive if you rent a car in Cavtat. However, there are other options if you don’t have a car, or just don’t want to take it. One of the best ways to travel is by Ferry. There is regular service with a one way ticket around 50 kuna. The ferry will give you a new perspective to see and enjoy the landscape. You can also use the regular bus service between the two cities.

Cavtat has many beaches and a Croatian holiday can’t be complete without spending a considerable amount of time at the beach. Be prepared the shoreline around the village is not sandy, but rather filled with small pebbles. We recommend some kind of feet protection.
