1. Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood
Price: Tours from $69
Burbank is home to the original Warner Bros. Studio and you can tour the studio grounds! Are you ready to see legendary TV sets like the set for Friends, Big Bang Theory, or Harry Potter?
Anyone who loves movies will enjoy the studio tour immensely. You’ll get a chance to not only see but experience these sets in real life. You can even walk around some of the sets and explore for yourself! It’s rather amazing.
We do admit, it’s on the pricier side, however, you’ll be returning home with life-long memories.
2. Gordon R Howard Museum
Price: $5 for the general tour
The Gordon R Howard Museum is maintained by the Burbank Historical Society. It’s one of the most important places where you can learn about the local Burbank history.
They have vintage vehicles, vintage clothing, and vintage items on display. You can learn how the city came to be as it is today. There are also displays of movie history, war history, and some information about the actual founders of Burbank.
It’s a great place and it’s the essential Burbank museum. If you want to do a tour of the town’s museums then definitely visit this place.
3. The Mystic Museum
Price: Free for the store and $16 (2022) for the Museum
The Mystic Museum is a museum and a store at once. It’s an interesting visit whenever you are in Burbank. The store’s main items are vintage memorabilia for anything weird, creepy, or otherwise occult.
They’ve got tons of items that will make your head spin. And of course, being a shop you can take home some of them if you like it!
When it comes to the museum part they do actually have a small exhibition. Although it’s smaller than the shop itself it is full of amazing items related to the horror genre. Travelers find themselves quite enjoying this museum despite the size.
4. Martial Arts History Museum
Price: $10 for Adults, $5 for Children
Don’t let the name fool you. This museum is not just for die-hard martial arts fans. This is a family-centered museum that has a lot to offer for the everyday visitor as well.
This Burbank museum does a great job of displaying the history of Martial Arts. They’ve got uniforms, weapons, and armor from the beginning to more recent times.
What’s great is that the owner is usually sticking around during the day and he is very passionate and knowledgable when it comes to Martial Art.
The Hyaena is a truly creepy place. They are well known for paintings on disturbing topics. This is definitely not a family museum as kids would get spooked by all the art inside the gallery.
If you are into the weird, the edgy, the uncanny, and the creepy then you’ll absolutely love this art gallery. One thing is sure: this is no ordinary place. This is as unique as it gets. However, it’s not for everyone.
6. Burbank Aviation Museum
The Burbank Aviation Museum is more of a shrine than an actual museum. However, if you would like to pay your respect it’s the perfect place to go to.
The museum offers memorials of people who have worked in the aviation and space industries and are from around Burbank. They do have a small wing that displays articles and maquettes of airplanes. These corner rooms are open on the first Sunday of each month 1 PM to 3 PM.
There’s also a replica of the Space Shuttle which is a very nice sight to look at.
+1 Travel Town Railroad
Price: $4 for Adults and $3 for Kids
And here’s the plus one. It is not necessarily in Burbank but it’s super close. And the Travel Town Railroad is one of the best family museums in the area.
The Travel Town Railroad offers miniature railway rides across the museum ground and Griffith Parks. It’s so much fun. Kids absolutely love riding these small trains. The trains also travel through the Old Western Town for an added historical atmosphere.
We highly recommend checking this place out.
