Ljubljana Golf Courses Guide

Although golf might not be the first thing to come into your mind regarding Slovenia, in 2015 the country has received an award for ‘Undiscovered Golf Destination of the Year 2015’. Surprisingly this small country boasts as much as 13 golf courses. Many of them are within a one hour drive of the capital. Ljubljana golf courses offer great quality and amazing views to go with it.

GOLF IGRIŠČE TRNOVO

The first public golf course in Slovenia. Anyone can come here and play regardless of their previous experience. This makes the course great for beginners. No membership fees or golf license is required. After the entry price (20-35€) is paid you are free to golf. For beginners, the facility offers a practice field and quick courses to get you in the game. It is located just on the outskirts of Ljubljana. The course consists of 9 holes.

DINERS CUBO GOLF COURSE LJUBLJANA

This 18 hole course is located between Ljubljana city and Ljubljana Airport. It is relatively easy to get to, but we recommend renting a car. The club has a very modern design, with little to no obstacles. This allows for quick and dynamic play. The green fee for this club is 90€.

GOLF ARBORETUM

Golf Arboretum is about 30-40 minutes drive from Ljubljana depending on traffic. It is next to Volčji Potok Arboretum, where its name comes from. The course contains 18 holes and stunning views of the surrounding mountainsides. Green fee is 45-50€.

GOLF GRAD OTOČEC GOLF COURSE

This 18 hole course is considered one of the best golf courses in Slovenia. It is around a 70km drive on the motorway from Ljubljana. Located next to the famous Otočec Castle, you will have great views when playing here. Green fee is 50-60€.

ROYAL BLED GOLF

Last on our list is Royal Bled Golf. This course is not only the biggest but the oldest of all golf courses in Slovenia. Located near the stunning Lake Bled it is relatively easy to get to. It has two courses to choose from an 18 hole and a 9 hole one. During its lifetime it has hosted many professional and amateur events. It even received an award in 2017 for being in the top 100 golf courses in mainland Europe. If you are looking to golf, don’t skip this place! Green fee is 150€.
